US-Iran peace deal to be signed on Sunday, says Trump; Tehran yet to confirm
Trump said that the Strait of Hormuz will be open to all immediately after the signing of the deal that, according to him, will also work as a "no nuclear wall" for Iran.
“We will have to wait and see about the exact date of the signing of the memorandum of understanding, although it will not be tomorrow,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said.

Hours after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif claimed that the peace deal between the United States and Islamic Republic of Iran could be signed in the next 24 hours, Tehran on Saturday said that the exact date of signing has not yet been decided.
“We will have to wait and see about the exact date of the signing of the memorandum of understanding, although it will not be tomorrow,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said.

He, however, added that it is possible the peace deal could be signed in the coming days.

“The possibility of this happening in the coming days cannot be ruled out. However, due to the hesitation of the other side, we must be cautious in making any comments about this process,” he added.
His remarks came after the Pakistani PM said that the peace deal is closer than ever and signing is expected in the next 24 hours.
“We are closer to a peace deal than ever before. With finalisation expected in the next 24 hours, Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the peace deal immediately after, followed by technical-level talks next week,” the Pakistan PM said.
What are the terms of the US-Iran peace deal?
While neither side has formally released the terms of the agreement, reports claimed it is the 14-point memorandum of understanding (MoU) proposed by the US but changes have been made in its language.
Under the framework, the war will stop on all fronts, including Lebanon, for 60 days to start negotiations on Iran’s nuclear programme
Iran would open the Strait of Hormuz and the United States would lift the naval blockade of Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf.
During the 60-day period, the US, Iran and other countries in the region are also expected to discuss the management of the Strait of Hormuz.
Once these issues are resolved, especially the nuclear one, a signing ceremony would take place in Geneva, Switzerland.
Discussions during the next phase will also include the lifting of American sanctions, including on Iran’s oil sales and international banking transactions.
